Aquaponics system couples aquaculture (raising aquatic animals such as fish, crayfish, snails or prawns in tanks) with hydroponics (cultivating plants in water). Fish and plants are simultaneously grown in the same system of fish tanks and grow trays, whereby the system allows the nutrients produced by fish waste to be used by the plants, which in turn help filter the water, making it suitable for the fish again. Our ecosystem is self-contained and restorative.

With aquaponics, there is more control over food safety and security by reducing food mileage and the losses associated with long haulage logistics needed to provide most of the vegetables sold in surrounding communities.
